2000 Series:
With copper as the main alloying element, some will add manganese, magnesium, lead and bismuth. Such as 2011 alloy for screws, 2014 alloy for the aviation industry, high strength, 2017 alloy is lower than 2014 alloy strength but easy to process. 2014 can be strengthened by heat treatment, the disadvantage is that the intergranular corrosion tendency is serious.
Application: Mainly used in aircraft structure (such as skin, etc.), aerospace, weapons, engines, pistons, automobile body, ship hull and stress components.
3000 Series:
Manganese as the main alloying element, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, good plasticity, low strength but can be strengthened by cold work hardening, annealing is easy to produce coarse grains. Used in aircraft seamless tubing and cans, such as 3003 alloy, 3004 alloy.

4000 Series:

5000 Series:
Mainly magnesium, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, good fatigue strength, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, only cold processing to improve strength. Mainly used in lawn mower handle, aircraft fuel tank conduit, body armor and so on.
Applications: Used in building decoration, pressure vessels, ship structures and offshore facilities, aircraft fuel tanks, automobile fuel tanks, automobile air storage tanks, containers and so on.
6000 Series:
Mainly magnesium and silicon, Mg2Si as the main strengthening phase, the most widely used alloy at present.
Application: Mainly used in construction, ships, rail vehicles, electronics, electrical electronics, durable consumer goods and other fields.
7000 Series:
Mainly zinc, sometimes added magnesium, copper. Among them, the superhard aluminum alloy contains zinc, lead, magnesium and copper, which is close to the hardness of steel. Extrusion speed is slower than 6 series alloy, good welding performance, can be strengthened by heat treatment. Used in aviation bearing components, landing gear, etc.
